If your doctor prescribes it after this date, you'll pay full private price instead of the concessional PBS rate.\n\n**Why care?**\nThis is how drugs get delisted in Australia. While doctors can still prescribe Thioridazine privately, removing it from the PBS usually signals serious issues—often safety problems (Thioridazine was linked to dangerous heart rhythm side effects) or because newer, safer alternatives exist.\n\n**Who's affected?**\nPatients taking Thioridazine and their doctors, who'll need to switch to subsidised alternatives or manage the unsubsidised cost."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/national-health-act-1953-declaration-under-subsection-85-2aa-no-pb-13-of-2003","history":"/api/acts/national-health-act-1953-declaration-under-subsection-85-2aa-no-pb-13-of-2003/history","analysis":"/api/acts/national-health-act-1953-declaration-under-subsection-85-2aa-no-pb-13-of-2003/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/national-health-act-1953-declaration-under-subsection-85-2aa-no-pb-13-of-2003/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/national-health-act-1953-declaration-under-subsection-85-2aa-no-pb-13-of-2003/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/national-health-act-1953-declaration-under-subsection-85-2aa-no-pb-13-of-2003/documents"}}
