It also guarantees local listeners have access to a mix of public, commercial, and community radio services. Without this plan, broadcasters couldn't legally operate transmitters in these areas.\n\n**Key terms explained:**\n- **Licence Area Plan**: A legal document that maps out who can broadcast where and on what frequency\n- **Narrowcasting**: Radio aimed at a specific audience (as opposed to general broadcasting)\n- **Service bands**: The range of radio frequencies set aside for broadcasting (AM and FM ranges)"}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/licence-area-plan-port-hedland-radio","history":"/api/acts/licence-area-plan-port-hedland-radio/history","analysis":"/api/acts/licence-area-plan-port-hedland-radio/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/licence-area-plan-port-hedland-radio/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/licence-area-plan-port-hedland-radio/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/licence-area-plan-port-hedland-radio/documents"}}
