It sets out the rules for radio broadcasting in the Inverell region of northern New South Wales.\n\n**What it does:**\n- **Allocates radio frequencies** to different types of broadcasters across Inverell, Glen Innes, Ashford, Emmaville, Warialda, and Deepwater.\n- **Categories of services covered:**\n  - **National radio** (ABC services) – 6 services reserved or licensed\n  - **Commercial radio** – 2 services (one AM, one FM with multiple transmitters)\n  - **Community radio** – 3 services (Inverell, Glen Innes, and Deepwater)\n  - **Open narrowcasting** – 2 services (specialised low-power services for limited audiences)\n\n**Who it affects:**\n- Radio broadcasters applying for licences or renewing them\n- Local communities wanting to know what radio services should be available\n- Anyone planning to set up radio transmission equipment in the area\n\n**Why it matters:**\nThis plan prevents radio stations from interfering with each other by ensuring each broadcaster uses a specific frequency with specific technical settings (power, location, antenna height). It also guarantees certain types of services (like community radio) are available in specific towns. The document includes detailed technical specifications for each transmitter site, including exact geographic coordinates and signal strength limits.\n\n**Key features:**\n- Uses 1991 Census boundaries to define licence areas\n- Some frequencies are \"reserved\" for future national services\n- Some are \"available\" for new community licences\n- Others are already \"licensed\" to existing broadcasters\n- Technical attachments specify exact transmitter locations down to map grid references"}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/licence-area-plan-inverell-radio-june-1998","history":"/api/acts/licence-area-plan-inverell-radio-june-1998/history","analysis":"/api/acts/licence-area-plan-inverell-radio-june-1998/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/licence-area-plan-inverell-radio-june-1998/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/licence-area-plan-inverell-radio-june-1998/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/licence-area-plan-inverell-radio-june-1998/documents"}}
