This designation typically grants certain legal protections and tax exemptions available to international bodies.\n\n**Why it matters:**\nWithout these regulations, JAS-ANZ (which handles accreditation for businesses and products across Australia and New Zealand) would lack clear legal capacity to own assets, employ staff, or enforce contracts independently. This ensures the joint body can operate autonomously without either government having to act as its legal proxy."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/joint-accreditation-system-of-australia-and-new-zealand-privileges-and-immunities-regulations","history":"/api/acts/joint-accreditation-system-of-australia-and-new-zealand-privileges-and-immunities-regulations/history","analysis":"/api/acts/joint-accreditation-system-of-australia-and-new-zealand-privileges-and-immunities-regulations/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/joint-accreditation-system-of-australia-and-new-zealand-privileges-and-immunities-regulations/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/joint-accreditation-system-of-australia-and-new-zealand-privileges-and-immunities-regulations/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/joint-accreditation-system-of-australia-and-new-zealand-privileges-and-immunities-regulations/documents"}}
