This Act may be cited as the International Fund for Agricultural Development Act 1982.\n\nCommencement\n\n2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.\n\nInterpretation\n\n3. In this Act, “Fund” means the International Fund for Agricultural Development.  \n\nContribution to Fund\n\n4. The Minister may, on behalf of Australia, notify the President of the Fund of the intention of Australia to contribute to the Fund amounts not exceeding in the aggregate $8,965,000.\n\nIssue of promissory notes\n\n5. (1) For the purposes of the payment of the contribution notified by the Minister under section 4, the Treasurer may, on behalf of Australia, execute and issue to the Fund promissory notes.\n\n(2) A promissory note issued under sub-section (1)—\n\n(a) shall be payable to the Fund;\n\n(b) shall be non-negotiable and non-interest-bearing; and\n\n(c) shall be payable at its par value on demand.\n\nAppropriation\n\n6.
