They allow the Housing Authority to require tenants to sign a tenancy agreement in a form the Authority sets, prescribe a court warrant of possession template to remove occupants who do not vacate, and define “metropolitan region” by reference to another Act (r.2, r.5–6). They cover two main things:\n\n**Tenancy agreements:** If you rent a house from the Government Employees' Housing Authority (now part of the broader Housing Authority), you must sign a tenancy agreement when asked. The Authority decides what form this agreement takes.\n\n**Eviction warrants:** If a tenant refuses to leave after being given proper notice, the Authority can apply to a local court (called a 'court of summary jurisdiction' — basically a Magistrates Court) for a warrant to evict them. Regulation 6 provides the exact legal wording that must appear on that warrant, authorising officers to enter the property, remove people and their belongings, and return possession to the Housing Authority.\n\n**Who it affects:** Public sector employees renting government housing in Western Australia, plus the Housing Authority staff who manage these properties.\n\n**Why it matters:** These rules ensure there's a clear, lawful process for ending tenancies and recovering government housing when tenants don't leave voluntarily. The warrant form ensures evictions follow proper legal procedure and protects both the Authority's property rights and tenants' rights to due process."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/government-employees-housing-regulations-1965","history":"/api/acts/government-employees-housing-regulations-1965/history","analysis":"/api/acts/government-employees-housing-regulations-1965/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/government-employees-housing-regulations-1965/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/government-employees-housing-regulations-1965/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/government-employees-housing-regulations-1965/documents"}}
