Any heading inserted in an Act which was passed before 1 January 2001, by an Act passed on or after 1 January 2001, forms part of that Act. This includes headings to Parts, Divisions or Subdivisions in a Schedule; sections; clauses; items; tables; columns; examples; diagrams; notes or forms. See section 36(3C).\n\n• Location of \"legislative items\"\n\nA \"legislative item\" is a penalty, an example or a note. As from 13 October 2004, a legislative item relating to a provision of an Act is taken to be at the foot of that provision even if it is preceded or followed by another legislative item that relates to that provision. For example, if a penalty at the foot of a provision is followed by a note, both of these legislative items will be regarded as being at the foot of that provision. See section 36B.\n\n• Other material\n\nAny explanatory memorandum, table of provisions, endnotes, index and other material printed after the Endnotes does not form part of an Act. \nSee section 36(3)(3D)(3E).\n\n2 Table of Amendments\n\nThis publication incorporates amendments made to the **Geelong (Kardinia Park) Land Act 1950** by Acts and subordinate instruments.\n\n–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––\n\n**Geelong (Kardinia Park) Land Act 1965, No. 7257/1965**\n\n| Assent Date: | 11.5.65 |\n| --- | --- |\n| Commencement Date: | 11.5.65 |\n| Current State: | All of Act in operation |\n\n\n**Geelong (Kardinia Park) Land Act 1977, No. 8972/1977**\n\n| Assent Date: | 27.4.77 |\n| --- | --- |\n| Commencement Date: | 27.4.77: s. 1(3) |\n| Current State: | All of Act in operation |\n\n\n**Land (Revocation of Reservations and Other Matters) Act 2009, No. 81/2009**\n\n| Assent Date: | 8.12.09 |\n| --- | --- |\n| Commencement Date: | S. 30 on 25.2.10: Government Gazette 25.2.10 p. 351 |\n| Current State: | This information relates only to the provision/s amending the **Geelong (Kardinia Park) Land Act 1950** |\n\n\n**Kardinia Park Stadium Act 2016, No. 7/2016**\n\n| *Assent Date:* | 1.3.16 |\n| --- | --- |\n| *Commencement Date:* | S. 45 on 16.3.16: Special Gazette (No. 55) 15.3.16 p. 1 |\n| Current State: | This information relates only to the provision/s amending the **Geelong (Kardinia Park) Land Act 1950** |\n\n\n–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––\n\n3 Amendments Not in Operation\n\nThere are no amendments which were Not in Operation at the date of this publication.\n\n4 Explanatory details\n\n1. Leases over 3 years need approval from the Governor in Council (the state government's top decision-making body). Rent money must go back into maintaining and improving the land.\n\n- **Recent changes:** The law has been updated to work alongside the *Kardinia Park Stadium Act 2016*. Any land now managed by the Kardinia Park Trust under that newer law is excluded from this Act's operation.\n\n**Why it matters:**\n\nThis law ensures Kardinia Park (home to the Geelong Cats' GMHBA Stadium) can be properly managed for both public enjoyment and commercial sporting use.
