The land contains a bowling club clubhouse, and the Act lets the council grant leases for bowling greens and related facilities.\n\n**Who it affects:**\n\n- **The City of Frankston**: They can now lease this specific land for up to 21 years at a time, with conditions they set themselves (though the Governor in Council must approve each lease).\n- **Bowling clubs or similar organisations**: They can lease the land to operate bowling greens and build related facilities.\n- **The public**: The rent money must go back into maintaining the rest of the public reserve, or be used for other purposes approved by the Minister.\n\n**Why it matters:**\n\nNormally, land reserved for public recreation can't be leased out for private or club use. This Act creates a specific exception for this particular parcel of land in Frankston. It also protects the government by stating that no compensation is payable for anything done under this Act.\n\n**Key points:**\n- Leases can last up to 21 years\n- The Governor in Council must approve each lease\n- Rent money must be used for the public reserve or with Ministerial approval\n- The Crown (government) pays no compensation for actions taken under this Act"}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/frankston-land-act-1975","history":"/api/acts/frankston-land-act-1975/history","analysis":"/api/acts/frankston-land-act-1975/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/frankston-land-act-1975/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/frankston-land-act-1975/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/frankston-land-act-1975/documents"}}
