It applies to people in specific council areas (Bundaberg, Gladstone, Livingstone, Noosa, Somerset and Toowoomba) who were seriously hurt, lost a family member, had their home destroyed or badly damaged, or lost major assets (worth $20,000+) in the fires. It also covers principal carers of children who suffered these losses. The instrument defines key terms like 'destroyed', 'major damage', and 'seriously injured' so there's no confusion about who qualifies. It also includes a savings provision ensuring people who applied under an earlier version of these rules aren't disadvantaged."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/f2020l00163","history":"/api/acts/f2020l00163/history","analysis":"/api/acts/f2020l00163/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/f2020l00163/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/f2020l00163/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/f2020l00163/documents"}}
