Information may be inserted in this column, or information in it may be edited, in any published version of this instrument.\n\n3  Authority\n\n  This instrument is made under the Defence Force (Home Loans Assistance) Act 1990.\n\n4  Schedules\n\n  Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.\n\n5  Definitions\n\n  In this instrument:\n\nHome Loans Act means the Defence Force (Home Loans Assistance) Act 1990.\n\n6  Use and disclosure of personal information—prescribed purposes\n\n  For the purposes of subsection 36A(2) of the Act, the following purposes are prescribed:\n\n (a) determining whether or not a person is eligible for the payment of subsidy under the Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme Act 2008, including whether or not a member continues to be eligible under that Act;\n\n (b) determining the amount of subsidy payable on a loan to a person under the Home Loans Act, including correcting or updating the amount of subsidy payable;\n\n (c) deciding whether or not an amount of subsidy on a loan to a person should be paid under the Home Loans Act;\n\n (d) identifying an error in relation to, or an overpayment of, an amount of subsidy on a loan to a person under the Home Loans Act;\n\n (e) implementing the findings of the internal review of a decision under the Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme Act 2008;\n\n (f) administering requirements in relation to eligibility and entitlements under the Home Loans Act, including correcting or updating the amount of subsidy paid on a loan to a person;\n\n (g) any other purpose that is reasonably necessary for the administration of the Home Loans Act.\n\nSchedule 1—Repeals\n\n \n\nDefence Force (Home Loans Assistance) Regulations 1991\n\n1  The whole of the instrument\n\nRepeal the instrument.\n\n \n","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"flash_summary":{"complexity_score":3,"scope_assessment":{"changed":true,"description":"This instrument repeals the 1991 regulations and replaces them with a concise framework that specifically prescribes permitted purposes for use and disclosure of personal information under subsection 36A(2) of the Home Loans Act.
