This law confirms that:\n\n* Those tax adjustments were legally valid, even if the authority to make them was technically uncertain\n* Any import taxes collected under these new rates up to December 1936 were lawfully collected\n* The government does not need to refund money collected under these rates\n\nEssentially, this is a **\"clean-up\" law** that prevents legal challenges over exchange rate-related customs duty changes made earlier in 1936, ensuring those tax collections remain valid."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/customs-tariff-exchange-adjustment-validation-act-1936","history":"/api/acts/customs-tariff-exchange-adjustment-validation-act-1936/history","analysis":"/api/acts/customs-tariff-exchange-adjustment-validation-act-1936/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/customs-tariff-exchange-adjustment-validation-act-1936/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/customs-tariff-exchange-adjustment-validation-act-1936/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/customs-tariff-exchange-adjustment-validation-act-1936/documents"}}
