{"id":"F2010L00599","name":"Currency (Royal Australian Mint) Determination 2010 (No. 1)","slug":"currency-royal-australian-mint-determination-2010-no-1","collection":"legislative_instrument","jurisdiction":"commonwealth","status":"in_force","isInForce":true,"actNumber":null,"makingDate":null,"administeringDepartment":null,"currentVersion":{"id":123656,"registerId":"commonwealth-F2010L00599-current","compilationNumber":null,"startDate":"2026-04-03","status":"InForce","reasons":null,"registeredAt":null},"sections":[{"sectionNumber":"1","sectionType":"section","heading":"Currency (Royal Australian Mint) Determination 2010 (No. 1)","content":"![](image.001.png)\n\nCurrency (Royal Australian Mint) Determination 2010 (No. 1)1\n\nCurrency Act 1965\n\nI, NICK SHERRY, Assistant Treasurer, make this Determination under paragraph 13 (2) (a) and subsection 13A (1) of the Currency Act 1965.\n\nDated 25 February 2010\n\nNICK SHERRY\n\nAssistant Treasurer\n\n1 Name of Determination\n\nThis Determination is the Currency (Royal Australian Mint) Determination 2010 (No. 1).\n\n2 Commencement\n\nThis Determination commences on the day after it is registered.\n\n3 Definition\n\nIn this Determination:\n\n> Act means the Currency Act 1965.\n\n4 Specification of standard composition\n\n(1) For paragraph 13 (2) (a) of the Act, the Act has effect, on and after the day on which this Determination commences, as if the reference in the Schedule to the Act, opposite to the denomination of $25, to the standard composition of coins of that denomination included a reference to the standard composition of ‘At least 99.99% gold’.\n\n(2) The standard composition mentioned in subsection (1) for a denomination is specified in the Schedule to the Act in addition to any other standard composition that is, or is taken to be, specified in the Schedule to the Act for that denomination immediately before the day on which this Determination commences.\n\n5 Standard weight, variation, dimension and design\n\n(1) For subsection 13A (1) of the Act, on and after the day on which this Determination commences, each item in the Schedule specifies, for a coin having the denomination and standard composition mentioned in the item (being a coin whose denomination is specified, or taken to be specified, in the Schedule to the Act):\n\n(a) the coin’s standard weight; and\n\n(b) the allowable variation from that standard weight; and\n\n(c) the coin’s dimensions; and\n\n(d) the coin’s design.\n\n(2) Subsection (1) does not affect any other determination of the standard weight, variation, dimensions or design of a coin made under subsection 13A (1) of the Act.\n\nSchedule\n\n(section 5)\n\nPart 1 Specifications of coins\n\n```html\n
