It sets out the exact physical specifications for each coin—what they're made of, how much they weigh, their size, and what designs appear on the front (obverse) and back (reverse).\n\n**Key details:**\n- **Five gold coins** worth $4 each (1/25 ounce of 99.99% pure gold), featuring Australian gold rush history themes from 2001–2005\n- **Three silver coins** worth $1 each, commemorating the 1954 Australian florin, Mawson Station's 50th anniversary, and the 2006 FIFA World Cup\n- **One silver coin** worth 25 cents, also for the 2006 FIFA World Cup\n\nThe law ensures these coins meet strict quality standards (weight tolerances, purity levels) and specifies artistic details down to the lettering and images. The coins are legal tender, meaning they can technically be used to pay debts, though their metal value typically exceeds their face value.\n\n**Who it affects:** Coin collectors, the Perth Mint, and anyone who might receive these coins in transactions.
