The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission can make a copy of the standard available for viewing at one of its offices, subject to licensing conditions.\n\ntransitional period means the period of 24 months beginning on the day this instrument commences.\n\nvehicle ramp means a vehicle ramp (within the meaning of the Australian Standard) that has a nominated capacity (in accordance with that Standard) of 1,500 kilograms or less.\n\nPart 2—Safety standard\n\n \n\n6  Requirements during transitional period\n\n (1) During the transitional period, a vehicle ramp must comply with:\n\n (a) the Consumer Product Safety Standard for Portable Ramps for Vehicles (Consumer Protection Notice No. 2 of 2010), as in force immediately before the commencement of this instrument; or\n\n (b) the Australian Standard as varied by section 8.\n\nNote: The Consumer Product Safety Standard for Portable Ramps for Vehicles could in 2017 be viewed on the Federal Register of Legislation website (https://www.legislation.gov.au).\n\n (2) This section is repealed at the end of the last day of the transitional period.\n\n7  Safety standard for vehicle ramps after transitional period\n\n  After the transitional period, the Australian Standard, as varied by section 8, is declared to be a safety standard for vehicle ramps.\n\n8  Variation of the Australian Standard\n\n  For the purposes of this Part, the Australian Standard is varied by replacing section 1 of the Australian Standard with the following:\n\n1 SCOPE\n\nThis standard specifies requirements for the design, construction, performance and marking of portable vehicle ramps that consist of an incline, platform and barrier stop and have a nominated capacity of 1,500 kilograms or less.\n\nSchedule 1—Repeals\n\n \n\nConsumer Product Safety Standard for Portable Ramps for Vehicles (Consumer Protection Notice No. 2 of 2010) (Federal Register of Legislation No. F2010L00296)\n\n1  The whole of the instrument\n\nRepeal the instrument.\n\nNote: Under item 4 of Schedule 7 to the Trade Practices Amendment (Australian Consumer Law) Act (No. 2) 2010, the Consumer Product Safety Standard for Portable Ramps for Vehicles continued in force from the start of 1 January 2011 as if it were a safety standard made under section 104 of the Australian Consumer Law (because it was taken under section 65E of the Trade Practices Act 1974 to be a prescribed consumer product safety standard for the purposes of section 65C of that Act immediately before 1 January 2011).\n\n \n","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"kimi_summary":{"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":3,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"The legislation maintains its original narrow scope focused specifically on portable vehicle ramps with capacity of 1,500kg or less.
