Campbell  \nExecutive Manager  \nOperations Division\n\n30 March 2016\n\nExemption – requirement to obtain a pass in an instrument rating theory examination\n\n1 Duration\n\nThis instrument:\n\n(a) commences on the day of registration; and\n\n(b) expires, as if it had been repealed by another instrument, at the end of January 2019.\n\n2 Application\n\nThis instrument applies to an applicant for certification as a UAV controller (the applicant) who applies for certification that is subject to the following conditions:\n\n(a) the UAV must be a type of UAV for which the applicant has completed an appropriate training course; and\n\n(b) the UAV must only be operated in visual line of sight, and clear of cloud.\n\n3 Exemption\n\nThe applicant is exempt from the requirement of paragraph 101.295 (2) (c) of CASR 1998 relating to obtaining a pass in an instrument rating theory examination.\n\n4 Condition\n\nThe exemption is subject to the condition that the applicant meets all other requirements for certification, with the exception of the requirement for a pass in an instrument rating theory examination.","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"kimi_summary":{"_metrics":{"model":"kimi-k2.5","source":"moonshot-batch","completionTokens":2442},"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":2,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"The instrument maintains its original narrow scope as a temporary exemption from instrument rating theory requirements for visual line-of-sight UAV operations.
