This ensures safe navigation and collision avoidance in busy airspace.\n\n**The exemption**\n\nThe pilots are excused from this straight-ahead requirement **only if**:\n* They need to turn to keep spectators safe; **and**\n* They have reached a speed and height where turning is safe to perform.\n\n**Why it matters**\n\nAir shows require dramatic manoeuvres close to the ground. This exemption allows display pilots to begin their routines immediately after take-off while ensuring crowd safety remains the top priority."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/casa-ex22-11-exemption-turns-after-take-off-at-australian-international-air-show","history":"/api/acts/casa-ex22-11-exemption-turns-after-take-off-at-australian-international-air-show/history","analysis":"/api/acts/casa-ex22-11-exemption-turns-after-take-off-at-australian-international-air-show/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/casa-ex22-11-exemption-turns-after-take-off-at-australian-international-air-show/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/casa-ex22-11-exemption-turns-after-take-off-at-australian-international-air-show/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/casa-ex22-11-exemption-turns-after-take-off-at-australian-international-air-show/documents"}}
