Campbell  \nExecutive Manager  \nOperations Division\n\n2 December 2015\n\nExemption — minimum height and lateral separation for operations (Aerotech NT)\n\n1 Duration\n\nThis instrument:\n\n(a) commences on the day of registration; and\n\n(b) expires at the end of November 2018, as if it had been repealed by another instrument.\n\n2 Repeal\n\nInstrument CASA EX172/12 is repealed.\n\n3 Application\n\nThis instrument applies to the pilot in command of an aeroplane operated by Aerotech NT Pty Ltd, Aviation Reference Number 814965 (the operator), engaged in:\n\n(a) operations involving the dropping of fire retardant, foam or water for fire fighting; or\n\n(b) reconnaissance flights undertaken for fire fighting.\n\n4 Exemptions\n\nA pilot in command mentioned in section 3 is exempt from:\n\n(a) the requirements of subregulation 137.140 (3) of CASR 1998 to the extent mentioned in Schedule 1; and\n\n(b) the requirements of subregulation 137.140 (4).\n\n5 Condition\n\nThe exemptions are subject to the condition mentioned in Schedule 2.\n\nSchedule 1 Extent of exemption\n\nThe exemption against the requirements of subregulation 137.140 (3) applies only when an aeroplane is required to drop fire retardant over an occupied building or over an area adjacent to an occupied building.\n\nSchedule 2 Condition\n\nThe operation must be conducted under an arrangement with a recognised State or Territory emergency services authority.","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"kimi_summary":{"_metrics":{"model":"kimi-k2.5","source":"moonshot-batch","completionTokens":2033},"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":2,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"This is a narrow, specific exemption instrument for a single aviation operator performing firefighting activities.
