{"id":"F2009L00707","name":"CASA EX19/09 – Exemption – recent experience requirements","slug":"casa-ex19-09-exemption-recent-experience-requirements","collection":"legislative_instrument","jurisdiction":"commonwealth","status":"repealed","isInForce":false,"actNumber":null,"makingDate":null,"administeringDepartment":null,"currentVersion":{"id":77646,"registerId":"commonwealth-F2009L00707-current","compilationNumber":null,"startDate":"2026-04-02","status":"Repealed","reasons":null,"registeredAt":null},"sections":[{"sectionNumber":"1","sectionType":"section","heading":"CASA EX19/09 – Exemption – recent experience requirements","content":"Instrument number CASA EX19/09\n\nI, michael david quinn, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Operations, a delegate of CASA, make this instrument under subregulation 308 (1) of the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988 (CAR 1988).\n\n\\[Signed M.D. Quinn\\]\n\nMick Quinn  \nDeputy Chief Executive Officer  \nOperations\n\n27 February 2009\n\nExemption — recent experience requirements\n\n1 Duration\n\nThis instrument:\n\n(a) commences on the day it is registered; and\n\n(b) stops having effect at the end of 28 February 2011.\n\n2 Application\n\nThis instrument applies to aircraft engaged in regular public transport operations.\n\n3 Exemption\n\nPersons who:\n\n(a) hold an air transport pilot (aeroplane) licence; and\n\n(b) are employed by an operator providing a training and checking organisation under regulation 217 of CAR 1988;\n\nare exempt from compliance with subregulation 5.11 (3) of CAR 1988 in relation to recent experience requirements mentioned in paragraph 11.3 of Civil Aviation Order 40.1.5.\n\n4 Conditions\n\nThe exemption is subject to the conditions mentioned in Schedule 1.\n\nSchedule 1 Conditions\n\n1 If the holder of an air transport pilot (aeroplane) licence has not flown a type of aeroplane, including completion of 1 take-off and 1 landing in that type of aeroplane within the preceding 35 days, he or she must not act as pilot in command of that type of aeroplane in regular public transport operations until he or she has completed in that type of aeroplane:\n\n(a) 2 take-offs and 2 landings; or\n\n(b) 1 hour flight time including 1 take-off and 1 landing.\n\n2 A copy of this exemption must be kept in the operator’s operations manual.","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"kimi_summary":{"_metrics":{"model":"kimi-k2.5","source":"moonshot-batch","completionTokens":3102},"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":2,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"This instrument remains strictly limited to its original purpose: creating a targeted exemption from recent experience requirements for a specific class of commercial pilots employed by operators with approved training organisations.
