Campbell,  \nActing Executive Manager  \nOperations Division\n\n26 November 2012\n\nExemption — minimum height and lateral separation for operations\n\n1 Duration\n\nThis instrument:\n\n(a) commences on 1 December 2012; and\n\n(b) stops having effect at the end of November 2015.\n\n2 Application\n\nThis instrument applies to the pilot in command of an aeroplane operated by Aerotech First Response Pty Ltd, Aviation Reference Number 525279 (the operator), and engaged in:\n\n(a) operations involving the dropping of fire retardant, foam or water for fire fighting; or\n\n(b) reconnaissance flights undertaken for fire fighting.\n\n3 Exemption\n\nThe pilot in command of an aircraft operated by the operator is exempt from:\n\n(a) the requirements of subregulation 137.140 (3) of CASR 1998 to the extent mentioned in Schedule 1; and\n\n(b) the requirements of subregulation 137.140 (4).\n\n4 Condition\n\nThe exemption is subject to the condition in Schedule 2.\n\nSchedule 1 Extent of exemption\n\nThe exemption against the requirements of subregulation 137.140 (3) applies only when an aircraft is required to drop fire retardant over an occupied building or over an area adjacent to an occupied building.\n\nSchedule 2 Condition\n\nThe operation must be conducted under an arrangement with a recognised State or Territory fire authority.","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"kimi_summary":{"_metrics":{"model":"kimi-k2.5","source":"moonshot-batch","completionTokens":2693},"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":2,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"The instrument remained tightly focused on its original purpose of enabling aerial firefighting operations near occupied buildings for a specific operator.
