Collins\\]\n\nRobert Collins  \nActing Deputy Chief Executive and  \nChief Operating Officer\n\n31 May 2005\n\nExemption — carriage of life rafts\n\n1 Revocation\n\nCASA EX39/2004 is revoked.\n\n2 Duration\n\nThis instrument:\n\n(a) commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments; and\n\n(b) stops having effect at the end of May 2008.\n\n3 Application\n\nThis instrument applies to Embraer EMB 120 Brasilia aircraft operated by Regional Pacific Airlines Pty Ltd (Aviation Reference Number 568330) in any of the following operations:\n\n(a) between Cairns and Port Moresby or Nadzab (Lae) in Papua New Guinea;\n\n(b) between Townsville and Port Moresby or Nadzab (Lae) in Papua New Guinea;\n\n(c) between Cairns and Gove, Groote Eylant or Darwin;\n\n(d) between Weipa and Gove, Groote Eylant or Darwin;\n\n(e) between Bamaga and Gove, Groote Eylant or Darwin;\n\n(f) between Horn Island and Gove, Groote Eylant or Darwin.\n\n4 Exemption\n\n(1)The aircraft are exempt from compliance with the directions under subregulation 252 (1) of CAR 1988 to the extent mentioned in subsection (2).\n\n(2)The exemption applies only to the requirement to comply with paragraph 5.2.1 of section 20.11 of the Civil Aviation Orders (the CAOs) in relation to the carriage of life rafts.\n\n5 Condition\n\nThe exemption is subject to the condition that the aircraft must be within the lesser of:\n\n(a) 60 minutes at single engine cruising speed; or\n\n(b) 200 nautical miles;\n\nfrom an adequate aerodrome as defined in CAO 82.0.","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"kimi_summary":{"_metrics":{"model":"kimi-k2.5","source":"moonshot-batch","completionTokens":2724},"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":3,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"The instrument operates as a standard, tightly targeted exemption under regulation 308 of CAR 1988.
