This exemption allows pilots to legally take off from or land on runways that are narrower than those standard requirements.\n\n**Who it affects**\nThe exemption applies only to pilots in command of aircraft conducting:\n* **Aerial work** — commercial operations such as surveying, aerial photography, or agricultural spraying\n* **Private operations** — non-commercial personal flights\n\n**Who it does NOT affect**\nThe exemption does **not** apply to regular public transport (airline) operations or charter flights. Those operators must still comply with the normal runway width standards.\n\n**Key feature**\nThis was a time-limited exemption (not permanent) with a built-in expiry date."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/casa-ex126-12-exemption-minimum-runway-width","history":"/api/acts/casa-ex126-12-exemption-minimum-runway-width/history","analysis":"/api/acts/casa-ex126-12-exemption-minimum-runway-width/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/casa-ex126-12-exemption-minimum-runway-width/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/casa-ex126-12-exemption-minimum-runway-width/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/casa-ex126-12-exemption-minimum-runway-width/documents"}}
