White\\]\n\nPeter White  \nExecutive Manager, Regulatory Services & Surveillance\n\n26 July 2018\n\nCASA 51/18 — Number of Cabin Attendants (Qantas Airways) Direction 2018\n\n1 Name\n\nThis instrument is CASA 51/18 — Number of Cabin Attendants (Qantas Airways) Direction 2018.\n\n2 Duration\n\nThis instrument:\n\n(a) commences on 1 August 2018; and\n\n(b) is repealed at the end of 31 July 2020.\n\n3 Application\n\nThis instrument applies to Qantas Airways Limited (Qantas Airways), ARN 216147, if Qantas Airways operates B737‑800 series aircraft with a type certificate data sheet that provides for a maximum seating capacity of 189 passengers (the relevant aircraft) in charter, or regular public transport, operations.\n\n4 Directions\n\n(1) Subparagraph 6.1 (b) of Civil Aviation Order 20.16.3, as in force from time to time, does not apply to Qantas Airways in respect of its operation of the relevant aircraft.\n\n(2) Qantas Airways must assign for duty at least 1 cabin attendant for every 50 passenger seats or part of that number fitted to the relevant aircraft.\n\n(3) Qantas Airways must not, without the prior written approval of CASA, revise any part of its operations manual affecting emergency procedures for the relevant aircraft, including in relation to exits or procedures relating to able‑bodied passengers.","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"kimi_summary":{"_metrics":{"model":"kimi-k2.5","source":"moonshot-batch","completionTokens":2466},"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":2,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"The instrument remains tightly focused on its original purpose of granting a specific cabin crew ratio exemption for Qantas Airways' B737-800 fleet.
