{"id":"F2006L03769","name":"CASA 447/06 - Instructions - specifying minimum runway width for a certain aeroplane","slug":"casa-447-06-instructions-specifying-minimum-runway-width-for-a-certain-aeroplane","collection":"legislative_instrument","jurisdiction":"commonwealth","status":"repealed","isInForce":false,"actNumber":null,"makingDate":null,"administeringDepartment":null,"currentVersion":{"id":137583,"registerId":"commonwealth-F2006L03769-current","compilationNumber":null,"startDate":"2026-04-03","status":"Repealed","reasons":null,"registeredAt":null},"sections":[{"sectionNumber":"1","sectionType":"section","heading":"CASA 447/06 - Instructions - specifying minimum runway width for a certain aeroplane","content":"Instrument number CASA 447/06\n\nI, ROBERT IAN WIGHT, Manager Operations, Air Transport Operations Group, a delegate of CASA, make this instrument under subregulation 235A (4) of the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988 (CAR 1988).\n\n\\[Signed Robert Wight\\]\n\nRobert Wight\n\nManager Operations\n\nAir Transport Operations Group\n\n23 November 2006\n\nInstructions — specifying minimum runway width for a certain aeroplane\n\n1 Duration\n\nThis instrument:\n\n(a) commences on 25 November 2006; and\n\n(b) stops having effect at the end of 31 December 2006.\n\n2 Application\n\nThis instrument applies only to operations in Australia of the prototype A380‑840 type aeroplane (the aircraft) by Airbus Industrie (the operator) for airport evaluation purposes.\n\n3 Instructions\n\n(1)The minimum runway width applicable to the aircraft is 60 metres.\n\n(2)However, when operating in accordance with the conditions mentioned in Schedule 1, the minimum runway width applicable to the aircraft may be reduced to 45 metres.\n\nSchedule 1 Conditions for subsection 3 (2)\n\n1 Landing and take-off operations (operations) may be conducted only at the following airports:\n\n(a) Brisbane International Airport;\n\n(b) Sydney International Airport;\n\n(c) Melbourne International Airport.\n\n2 Operations may only take place at the airports on a runway that is at least 45 metres wide.\n\n3 Operations must comply with the requirement of the special flight authorisation issued by CASA in instrument CASA 446/06.\n\n4 During operations, the pilot in command of the aircraft must observe all operating limitations that are specified in the Temporary Permit to Fly issued by the Direction Generale de l’ Aviation Civile, dated 13 October 2006, and applicable to aircraft with nationality and registration marks F‑WXXL.","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"kimi_summary":{"_metrics":{"model":"kimi-k2.5","source":"moonshot-batch","completionTokens":2457},"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":2,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"This instrument remained tightly scoped to its original purpose: a temporary, specific approval for A380 prototype evaluation flights by a single operator at designated airports.
