The Schedule lists exactly which offences attract these fines and how much they cost (between 1 and 4 \"penalty units\" depending on the offence).\n\n- **What must be in a fine:** The notice has to include details like when and where the offence happened, how much to pay, and warnings about what happens if you ignore it (including possible licence suspension, property seizure, or even jail for community work order breaches).\n\n- **Your options if fined:** You can pay the fine within 28 days to make the matter go away, or you can choose to have your day in court instead. You can pay by cheque, but it only counts once the cheque clears.\n\n- **Eviction notices:** If a park wants to kick someone out for unpaid rent, the termination notice must now include specific details like when rent started, current rent amount, when it was last paid, and when the next payment would be due.\n\n- **Security deposit interest:** For certain types of caravan agreements, any interest earned on security deposits goes to the park operator (not the tenant), unless the agreement says otherwise.\n\n**Why it matters:**\n\nThis creates a faster, cheaper way to deal with minor rule-breaking in caravan parks without clogging up the courts. It also gives tenants clearer information when facing eviction and clarifies who gets the interest on security bonds for long-term caravan site rentals."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/caravan-parks-regulations-2012","history":"/api/acts/caravan-parks-regulations-2012/history","analysis":"/api/acts/caravan-parks-regulations-2012/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/caravan-parks-regulations-2012/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/caravan-parks-regulations-2012/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/caravan-parks-regulations-2012/documents"}}
