Under the Wool Industry Act, statutory bodies (like the Australian Wool Board) must get the Minister's permission before paying anyone above a certain amount.\n\n**What changes:**\n- The threshold is set at **$12,530 per year** (circa 1971 values).\n- If a wool industry body wants to pay someone more than this, they need approval from the Minister for Primary Industry.\n- The regulations also repeal the old 1967 rules.\n\n**Why it matters:**\nThis is a financial control mechanism. It ensures taxpayer-funded wool industry bodies cannot hand out large executive salaries without government oversight."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/c1971l00032","history":"/api/acts/c1971l00032/history","analysis":"/api/acts/c1971l00032/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/c1971l00032/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/c1971l00032/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/c1971l00032/documents"}}
