They cover who can enter, how visitors must behave, what they can bring, and where they can park.\n\n**Who it affects:** Anyone visiting the Art Gallery of South Australia—tourists, locals, wedding parties, and people driving through the grounds.\n\n**Key rules include:**\n- **Entry:** Don't go into closed areas or stay after hours. Kids under 10 need adult supervision, except in café areas.\n- **Behaviour:** No disorderly conduct, smoking, eating or drinking outside designated areas, touching artworks, climbing structures, or holding protests. No selling things or handing out flyers.\n- **Photos:** Generally banned, but you can take handheld photos for personal use (no flash, no tripods) unless signs prohibit it. Wedding photos are allowed on the forecourt if they don't disturb others.\n- **Animals:** No pets allowed, but guide dogs and accredited disability dogs are permitted if properly controlled.\n- **Driving and parking:** Follow posted signs, don't drive dangerously, and only park in designated spots. Disabled parking spots require valid permits.\n- **Bags and items:** Staff can ask you to leave bags in designated areas.\n\n**Why it matters:** These rules protect the artworks, ensure visitor safety, and keep the gallery running smoothly. Breaking them can result in fines (called \"expiation fees\" for minor offences, or higher \"maximum penalties\" if the matter goes to court). The regulations also allow the Gallery Board to grant written approvals for exceptions and to set opening hours."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/art-gallery-regulations-2017","history":"/api/acts/art-gallery-regulations-2017/history","analysis":"/api/acts/art-gallery-regulations-2017/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/art-gallery-regulations-2017/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/art-gallery-regulations-2017/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/art-gallery-regulations-2017/documents"}}
