The new definition uses the **Body Mass Index (BMI)** formula: a person is considered obese if their BMI is 30 or higher, calculated by dividing weight in kilograms by height in metres squared (kg/m²).\n\nThis ensures veterans and doctors use a clear, measurable standard when assessing whether obesity contributed to the condition when lodging claims under the Veterans' Entitlements Act."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/amendment-of-statement-of-principles-concerning-plantar-fasciitis-no-48-of-2003","history":"/api/acts/amendment-of-statement-of-principles-concerning-plantar-fasciitis-no-48-of-2003/history","analysis":"/api/acts/amendment-of-statement-of-principles-concerning-plantar-fasciitis-no-48-of-2003/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/amendment-of-statement-of-principles-concerning-plantar-fasciitis-no-48-of-2003/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/amendment-of-statement-of-principles-concerning-plantar-fasciitis-no-48-of-2003/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/amendment-of-statement-of-principles-concerning-plantar-fasciitis-no-48-of-2003/documents"}}
