The wing separated from the aircraft after the wing lift strut attach fitting failed due to corrosion. The actions required by this Directive are intended to detect and correct corrosion or cracks in the attach fittings, which could result in failure of the attach fittings and lead to wing separation and loss of control. |\n| ----------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |\n\n![](image.001.png) \nDavid Villiers \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n26 May 2008","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/TAYLORCRAFT/2","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/TAYLORCRAFT/2","content":"## AD/TAYLORCRAFT/2","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Wing Lift Strut Attach Fittings","sectionType":"part","heading":"Wing Lift Strut Attach Fittings","content":"## Wing Lift Strut Attach Fittings","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"8/2008 DM","sectionType":"part","heading":"8/2008 DM","content":"## 8/2008 DM","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"flash_summary":{"complexity_score":5,"scope_assessment":{"changed":true,"description":"This Directive explicitly extends application to all listed Taylorcraft models, including those not covered by Taylorcraft Aviation Service Bulletin No.2007‑002, and states the Directive takes precedence over the Service Bulletin where they differ (Applicability).
