The review discovered that all references to the inspection, rework and replacement of the ceiling and lavatory fluorescent lamp holders had been removed from AD/SF340/54 Amdts 1 and 2. In order to avoid confusion AD/SF340/54 Amdt 2 has been cancelled and two new directives have been published reflecting the requirements of LFV SAD 1-103R1 and 1-113R1 respectively. |\n\n| | Correct mounting of the fluorescent lamps is essential to prevent poor electrical contact that can cause arcing between the lamp and lamp holder. Arcing can occur with both Page and Bruce lamp holders. To minimise the risk of further incidents it is necessary to perform initial and repetitive inspections to ensure correct mounting of the lamps. |\n| --- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |\n\n![](image.001.png)\n\nMike Higgins \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n5 January 2010","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/SF340/110","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/SF340/110","content":"## AD/SF340/110","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Passenger Compartment Fluorescent Lights","sectionType":"part","heading":"Passenger Compartment Fluorescent Lights","content":"## Passenger Compartment Fluorescent Lights","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"1/2010","sectionType":"part","heading":"1/2010","content":"## 1/2010","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"kimi_summary":{"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":3,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"This is a routine maintenance directive with a narrow, specific scope (fluorescent lamp inspections on specific SAAB aircraft).
