The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.\n\nShort SD3-60 Series Aeroplanes\n\nAD/SD3-60/42\n\nAmdt 1\n\n \nShock Absorber Gland Nut 9/2004\n\nApplicability: All Model SD3-60 aircraft with main landing gear (MLG) shock absorber units as defined in Messier-Dowty Service Bulletin No. 32-78SD Revision 1 or Revision 2.\n\nRequirement: Action in accordance with Shorts Mandatory Service Bulletin SD360-32-34 Revision 1, dated 30 June 2003, or Revision 2, dated 18 May 2004.\n\nNote 1: Incorporation of Messier-Dowty Service Bulletin 32-80SD constitutes terminating action for the inspection requirements of this Directive.\n\nNote 2: UK CAA AD 010-09-95 refers.\n\nCompliance: As specified in the Requirement document.\n\nThis Amendment becomes effective on 2 September 2004.\n\nBackground: A report was received of a cracked MLG shock absorber gland nut. The crack occurred as a result of corrosion around the inner shoulder radius of the nut.\n\nAmendment 1 is issued in response to revisions of the Requirement document, which introduce repeat inspections of the shock absorber gland nut.\n\nThe original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 31 January 1996.\n\n![Signature of David Villiers Delegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority](image.002.png) \n\nDavid Villiers\n\nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority 21 July 2004\n\n![](image.001.png)\n\nThe above AD is notified in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette on 11 August 2004.\n\n \n\nPage 1 of 1","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"flash_summary_failed":{"failed":true,"reason":"Unauthenticated.
