The jamming originates from the relevant tangential gearboxes. In both cases, the grease in the left tangential gearbox solidified and in one of the two cases, the right tangential gearbox showed traces of extensive corrosion. The jamming of the fuel shut-off control prevents:the fuel cock at the engine inlet from closing and may thus maintain a fire, the engine compartment ventilation flap from closing, which can reduce the efficiency of the extinguishing agent, in the event of firing after fire alarm, operation of the general cut-off control so that switching-off the electrical power system may become impossible if needed. This AD therefore requires operators to carry out a functional check of the fuel shut-off controls and to recondition and grease the tangential gearboxes. |\n\n![](image.001.png) \nCharles Lenarcic \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n29 March 2007","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/S-PUMA/69","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/S-PUMA/69","content":"## AD/S-PUMA/69","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Engine Controls - Fuel Shut off Lever","sectionType":"part","heading":"Engine Controls - Fuel Shut off Lever","content":"## Engine Controls - Fuel Shut off Lever","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"5/2007 TX","sectionType":"part","heading":"5/2007 TX","content":"## 5/2007 TX","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"flash_summary":{"complexity_score":6,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"The AD implements targeted inspection and maintenance requirements for specified Eurocopter AS 332 models as described in the source text and cross-references the Eurocopter ASB and EASA AD.
