The cause of the defect was found in an overheating of the return wire from the windshield heating system. Investigation revealed that the installation of the wiring in question was not in accordance with the specifications given in the applicable wiring diagrams (incorrect AWG). This could result in heat damage of the wiring and as a consequence, electrical arcing or possible fire in the overhead panel in the flight-compartment. |\n\n| | This Directive requires inspection for signs of heat damage of electrical parts together with inspection of wires for incorrect AWG and, if necessary, the replacement of heat damaged parts and incorrect wiring. |\n| --- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |\n\n![](image.001.png) \nJames Coyne \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n14 February 2005","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/PC-12/45","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/PC-12/45","content":"## AD/PC-12/45","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Windshield Deice SystemWiring - Inspecti","sectionType":"part","heading":"Windshield Deice SystemWiring - Inspection/Replacement","content":"## Windshield Deice System \nWiring - Inspection/Replacement","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"4/2005 TX","sectionType":"part","heading":"4/2005 TX","content":"## 4/2005 TX","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"flash_summary_failed":{"failed":true,"reason":"A positive credit balance is required for all requests, including BYOK, so fallback providers remain available.
