This Directive was based on US Directive 74-09-04. This Directive and 74-09-04 required compliance in 1974 so all affected aircraft would have been modified long ago. Hence, this AD is no longer required. |\n\n![](image.001.png)\n\nDavid Villiers  \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n19 May 2008","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/PA-28/44","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/PA-28/44","content":"## AD/PA-28/44","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Rear Seat Belt Attachment - Modification","sectionType":"part","heading":"Rear Seat Belt Attachment - Modification","content":"## Rear Seat Belt Attachment - Modification","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"7/2008","sectionType":"part","heading":"7/2008","content":"## 7/2008","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"kimi_summary":{"_metrics":{"model":"kimi-k2.5","source":"moonshot-batch","completionTokens":1075},"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":1,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"This instrument does not expand or alter scope; it completely cancels the previous Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-28/44, effectively removing all obligations imposed by that instrument."},"complexity_factors":["Single operative provision (cancellation)","No defined terms or interpretive provisions","No conditional logic or exceptions","Very short document (under 200 words)","Straightforward historical background only"],"plain_english_summary":"**What this does:** This document cancels (revokes) a previous safety rule that required owners of Piper PA-28 series aircraft to modify the rear seat belt attachments.\n\n**Who it affects:** Owners and operators of Piper PA-28 series aeroplanes, though practically no one is affected anymore since the modifications were already required to be completed by 1974.\n\n**Why it matters:** The original rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-28/44) required a one-time modification to rear seat belt attachments based on a Piper Service Bulletin. Because compliance was mandatory back in 1974, every affected aircraft has long since been modified. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority has now cancelled the rule because it is redundant — there's no one left who still needs to comply."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/ad-pa-28-44-rear-seat-belt-attachment-modification-cancelled","history":"/api/acts/ad-pa-28-44-rear-seat-belt-attachment-modification-cancelled/history","analysis":"/api/acts/ad-pa-28-44-rear-seat-belt-attachment-modification-cancelled/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/ad-pa-28-44-rear-seat-belt-attachment-modification-cancelled/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/ad-pa-28-44-rear-seat-belt-attachment-modification-cancelled/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/ad-pa-28-44-rear-seat-belt-attachment-modification-cancelled/documents"}}
