Investigations revealed that the cause of the failure was the fuel strainer flange which after breakage releases the filter set from the strainer body. The filter set impacts against the engine main fuel pump gears causing its jam causing fuel flow interruption, thus leading to engine flameout. This AD requires the replacement of the affected pumps with a pump with a serviceable pump. |\n\n![](image.001.png) \nJames Coyne \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n13 June 2008","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/ERJ-190/14","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/ERJ-190/14","content":"## AD/ERJ-190/14","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Main Fuel Pump","sectionType":"part","heading":"Main Fuel Pump","content":"## Main Fuel Pump","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"8/2008","sectionType":"part","heading":"8/2008","content":"## 8/2008","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"kimi_summary":{"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":2,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"This AD maintains its original narrow scope: addressing a specific mechanical defect in specific fuel pumps on a specific aircraft type.
