The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.\n\n![](image.001.png) \n\nEmbraer EMB-110 (Bandeirante) Series Aeroplanes\n\nAD/EMB-110/31\n\nAmdt 7\n\n \n\nCracking of Horizontal Stabiliser Attachment Fittings\n\n \n6/2003\n\nApplicability: All models of EMB-110 Bandeirante with components listed in the Requirement Document, with more than 5000 hours time in service, or in excess of two years since manufacture.\n\nRequirement: 1. Replace the horizontal stabiliser attachment fittings in accordance with Embraer SB 110-053-0022 Revision 4; as listed in the Table 1 “Old P/N” and “Replacement P/N” columns of the Service Bulletin.\n\n2. Carry out an inspection of horizontal stabiliser attachment fittings as specified by, and in accordance with, Embraer SB 110-053-0022 Revision 4.\n\nNote: Brazil CTA AD 84-04-01 R6 refers.\n\nCompliance: 1. Unless already accomplished; within 900 hours time in service or 6 months after accomplishment of the last inspection required by the previous issue of this Directive or within 900 hours time in service or six months after 12 December 1991, whichever occurs first.\n\n2. At intervals specified in the Requirement Document. This Amendment becomes effective on 12 June 2003.\n\nBackground: This directive addresses cracking in the horizontal stabiliser attachment fittings.\n\nAmendment 4 clarified applicability and part identification, and subjected the fittings affected to combined inspection periods.\n\nAmendment 5 aligned this AD with the latest revision of the related Country of Origin AD.\n\nAmendment 6, effective 18 August 1994, was issued to delete reference to Revision 2 of the Requirement document and clarify the intent of Requirement 2.\n\nEmbraer EMB-110 (Bandeirante) Series Aeroplanes\n\nAD/EMB-110/31 Amdt 7 (continued)\n\nThis amendment is issued to update the revision status of the requirement document to Revision 4.
