It requires operators to:\n- **Visually inspect** the electrical connections on a component called the \"1VE DC Power Unit\" to check that terminals and spring washers are installed correctly\n- **Check the torque** (tightness) of the connection studs on that same unit\n- **Fix any problems found** before the aircraft flies again\n\n**Who it affects:**\nOwners and operators of the affected Dornier 328-100 aircraft — specifically 82 aircraft in the serial number range listed.\n\n**Why it matters:**\nThe German aviation authority (LBA) reported cases where these electrical connections were overheating because parts were installed incorrectly and nuts weren't tightened properly. Overheating electrical connections can cause fires or electrical failures in flight. This directive prevents that by forcing a one-time inspection and fix.\n\n**Timing:**\n- The inspection must be done within 30 days of the directive taking effect\n- Any repairs must be completed before the next flight\n- The directive took effect on 19 January 2006"}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/ad-do-328-9-dc-power-unit-1ve-electrical-connections","history":"/api/acts/ad-do-328-9-dc-power-unit-1ve-electrical-connections/history","analysis":"/api/acts/ad-do-328-9-dc-power-unit-1ve-electrical-connections/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/ad-do-328-9-dc-power-unit-1ve-electrical-connections/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/ad-do-328-9-dc-power-unit-1ve-electrical-connections/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/ad-do-328-9-dc-power-unit-1ve-electrical-connections/documents"}}
