An investigation revealed that the Tab Side Fitting was cracked. Subsequently, similar cracks were found in a supporting lever of the Control Rod attachment fitting of the Trim Tab on another aircraft, during the applicable CMR inspection. This condition, if not corrected, could lead to structural failure of the dual path attachment arrangement of the affected trim and spring tabs, possibly resulting in a flutter problem that could lead to loss of control of the aircraft. |\n\n![](image.001.png) \nDavid Villiers \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n11 March 2009","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/DO 328/72","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/DO 328/72","content":"## AD/DO 328/72","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Elevator, Rudder and AileronTrim Tab Ass","sectionType":"part","heading":"Elevator, Rudder and AileronTrim Tab Assemblies","content":"## Elevator, Rudder and Aileron \nTrim Tab Assemblies","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"5/2009","sectionType":"part","heading":"5/2009","content":"## 5/2009","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"flash_summary_failed":{"failed":true,"reason":"Unauthenticated.
