The lower hinge block rotated because it was attached to its support structure with only one attachment bolt, which prevented it from reacting to any moment force. This condition, if not corrected, could result in breakage and uncontrolled release of the cockpit door under certain decompression situations.Amendment 1 is issued in response to a revision of the related Transport Canada AD, which requires rework of the cockpit door striker plate and replacement of the latch block for affected aircraft serial numbers, and additionally, clarifies the Modsums required prior to incorporation of Requirement 2. |\n\n![](image.001.png) \nDavid Villiers \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n7 November 2007","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/DHC-8/103 Amdt 1","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/DHC-8/103 Amdt 1","content":"## AD/DHC-8/103 Amdt 1","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Cockpit Door Hinge Attachment","sectionType":"part","heading":"Cockpit Door Hinge Attachment","content":"## Cockpit Door Hinge Attachment","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"13/2007","sectionType":"part","heading":"13/2007","content":"## 13/2007","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"flash_summary_failed":{"failed":true,"reason":"A positive credit balance is required for all requests, including BYOK, so fallback providers remain available.
