If wires coded 1P80B20N and 2P80B20N exist between terminals A4 and C4 repectively and ground then no further action is required. If no wires exist at these locations, install wires in accordance with the requirements of DeHavilland of Canada\n\nS.B No 6/473. Compliance: Prior to 31 July 1985.\n\nBackground: It is believed that during factory incorporation of Mod 6/1590 the two ground wires may have been omitted. The two wires provide “latching” for relays associated with generator overvoltage protection. Failure of these relays to “latch in” after a generator overvoltage may cause the generators to enter a cyclic mode with rising and falling voltages being applied to the aircraft electrical system.","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"kimi_summary":{"_metrics":{"model":"kimi-k2.5","source":"moonshot-batch","completionTokens":1445},"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":3,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"The directive maintains its original narrow scope targeting a specific manufacturing defect (omitted ground wires during Mod 6/1590) in specific DHC-6 aircraft serial numbers."},"complexity_factors":["Narrow applicability limited to specific aircraft serial number range (S/Nos 531-814)","Technical aviation terminology requiring specialized knowledge (Terminal Block TB-1A, intercostal C6FS1442-36)","Dependence on external manufacturer document (DeHavilland Service Bulletin No. 6/473) for installation instructions","Specific wire codes (1P80B20N, 2P80B20N) that must be verified during inspection"],"plain_english_summary":"This Airworthiness Directive orders operators of de Havilland DHC‑6 Twin Otter aircraft (s/n 531–814 that received factory Mod No. 6/1590) to inspect the generator control panel for two ground wires (1P80B20N and 2P80B20N).
