The available information indicates wings with voids continue to meet the certification design limits, provided the voids are within established criteria. However, to detect any wings that may have voids exceeding these criteria, Diamond has issued a mandatory service bulletin that describes instructions for inspection of the aircraft that had these wings installed during manufacture. Aircraft that have voids within the inspection criteria may continue to operate without restriction, pending the outcome of ongoing investigations. Aircraft that have voids exceeding the inspection criteria must be repaired. |\n| ----------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |\n\n![](image.001.png) \nDavid Punshon \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n18 December 2008","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/DA40/9","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/DA40/9","content":"## AD/DA40/9","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Upper Wing Skin-to-Main Spar Adhesive Jo","sectionType":"part","heading":"Upper Wing Skin-to-Main Spar Adhesive Joint","content":"## Upper Wing Skin-to-Main Spar Adhesive Joint","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"2/2009","sectionType":"part","heading":"2/2009","content":"## 2/2009","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"flash_summary":{"complexity_score":3,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"The directive applies only to the listed DA40 serial numbers and implements inspection, reporting and conditional repair actions described in Diamond's service bulletin and the referenced EASA AD.
