Lack of sealant on the above-noted locations, if not corrected, could result in arcing and potential ignition source inside the fuel tank during lightning strikes and consequent fuel tank explosion. To correct the unsafe condition, this AD mandates the application of sealant to the bolts that attach various fittings on the collector fuel tanks, to the edges of the transfer ejector pumps and to the bolts that attach the transfer ejector pump to the transfer ejector pump casing. |\n\n![](image.001.png) \nCharles Lenarcic \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n24 September 2007","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/CL-600/89","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/CL-600/89","content":"## AD/CL-600/89","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Fuel Tank Sealant","sectionType":"part","heading":"Fuel Tank Sealant","content":"## Fuel Tank Sealant","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"12/2007","sectionType":"part","heading":"12/2007","content":"## 12/2007","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"flash_summary":{"complexity_score":3,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"The AD implements a corrective maintenance requirement limited to specified serial numbers and specific parts (collector tank bolts; transfer ejector pumps) and permits prior compliance under the original service bulletin to satisfy the directive (Requirement; Applicability).
