Conduct a special check of both the left and right angle of attack (AOA) transducers and record the voltage and vane angle value results for the shaker and pusher firing angles.\n\n\n \n\nb.        Assess the recorded voltages against the voltage tolerances specified in Table\n\n1.1 and Table 1.2 of Appendix A of the above referenced applicable ASB. If any of the voltages are outside of the specified tolerances, replace the unserviceable Stall Protection Computer and then repeat the initial special check of both the left and right AOA transducers as specified in Requirement\n\n2.a. Repeat the assessment of the recorded voltages as detailed above in this paragraph.\n\n \n\nc.         Assess the recorded vane angles for the shaker and the pusher against the tolerances detailed in Table 1.1 and Table 1.2 of Appendix A. and, if required, against the expanded tolerances detailed in Table A of the Accomplishment Instructions of the above referenced applicable ASB.\n\n \n\n(i)       If all of the recorded vane angles, for both AOA transducers, are within the tolerances in Table 1.1 and Table 1.2, the AOA transducers can remain in service and no further checks are required under Requirement\n\n2.    However, compliance with Requirement 4 is required before the aircraft is returned to service.\n\n \n\n(ii)     If one or more recorded vane angles for either or both of the AOA transducers is outside the tolerances in Table 1.1 and Table 1.2 of Appendix A but all recorded vane angles are within the expanded tolerances in Table A of the Accomplishment Instructions of the applicable ASB, replacement of the out-of-tolerance AOA transducer(s) may be delayed for 150 hours time in service (TIS) from the date that the check is carried out. Until Requirement 4 is completed, continue to comply with the applicable AFM TR, or later approved version, introduced under Requirement 1.\n\n \n\nNote 2: AOA special check may have been accomplished in accordance with AD/CL- 600/49 or Transport Canada AD CF-2002-05R1.\n\n \n\n3.         If, as a result of the Requirement 2 checks, any of the recorded vane angles is outside the expanded tolerances in Table A of the applicable ASB, comply with Requirement 4.\n\n \n\n4.         Remove any AOA transducer or transducer assembly that was not within the tolerances in Table 1.1 and 1.2 of Appendix A and install a new AOA transducer or transducer assembly. The foregoing shall be accomplished in accordance with paragraph 2.C. Part B of the Accomplishment Instructions of the applicable ASB as listed at Requirement 2.\n\n \n\n5.         Remove the applicable AFM amendment introduced under Requirement 1 of this Directive.\n\n \n\n6.         Amend the approved Maintenance Schedule by incorporating the Time Limits Maintenance Checks (TLMC) introduced by the following temporary revisions (TRs) to the appropriate Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM):\n\n \n\nAeroplane Model\n\n \n\nCL-600-1A11 (CL-600) CL-600-2A12 (CL-601)\n\nCL-600-2B16 (CL-601-3A/-3R) CL-600-2B16 (CL-604)\n\n\nAMM\n\n \n\nPSP 605 TR 5-124 dated 27 February 2004\n\nPSP 601-5 TR 5-210 dated 27 February 2004\n\nPSP 601A-5 TR 5-228 dated 27 February 2004\n\nTLMC TR 5-2-16, dated 27 February 2004\n\n \n\nNote 3: Transport Canada AD CF-2002-05R1 refers.\n\n \n\nCompliance: For Requirement 1:\n\n \n\nAeroplanes with 300 or more hours time in service (TIS) since new - Within seven days of the effective date of this Directive, unless Requirement 4 of this Directive has been complied with.\n\n \n\nAeroplanes with less than 300 hours TIS at the effective date of this Directive - Before reaching 300 hours TIS unless Requirement 4 of this Directive has been complied with.\n\n \n\nFor Requirement 2:\n\n \n\nAeroplanes with more than 100 hours TIS since new - At or before accumulating 200 hours TIS from the effective date of this Amendment.\n\n \n\nAeroplanes with 100 hours TIS or less since new - At or before accumulating 300 hours TIS since new.\n\n \n\nFor Requirement 3 - Before further flight after the Requirement 2 check.\n\n \n\nFor Requirement 4 - Except as authorised under Requirement 2.c.(ii) above, before returning the aircraft to service following completion of the checks specified under Requirement 2.\n\n \n\nFor Requirement 5 - Following compliance with Requirement 4.\n\n \n\nFor Requirement 6 - Within 30 days after the effective date of this Amendment. This Amendment becomes effective on 22 December 2004.\n\nBackground: Bombardier Aerospace has determined that the potentiometers of the angle of attack transducers can develop flat spots which can cause a delay in the commands for stall warning, stick shaker and stick pusher operation. The problem is dormant and an out- of-tolerance AOA transducer can only be identified on an in service aircraft through introduction of a special check.\n\n \n\nThe original issue of this Directive required the amendment of the AFM and special checks of AOA transducers.\n\n \n\nThis Amendment amends the applicability for CL-604 aeroplanes, corrects the reference for the CL-604 AFM TR, deletes the repetitive AOA checks required by the original issue of this Directive and introduces an AOA check in the TLMC of the applicable AMM.\n\n \n\nThe original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 6 March 2002.\n\n![Signature of James Coyne Delegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority](image.002.png) \n\n\nJames Coyne\n\nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority 16 December 2004\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n![](image.001.png) \n\n\nThe above AD is notified in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette on 22 December 2004.\n","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"flash_summary_failed":{"failed":true,"reason":"A positive credit balance is required for all requests, including BYOK, so fallback providers remain available.
