The reports indicated that a circumferential crack was found on the fitting at the radius between the fitting cylinder area and the upper attachment lug for the shock strut.Amendment 1 added servicing of the main landing gear shock struts, and repetitive inspection of the shock strut for nitrogen pressure and visible chrome dimensions. Further investigation revealed that, under certain conditions, a mis-serviced shock strut could lead to premature failure of the fitting. This amendment also allowed the eddy current inspection interval to be increased under certain conditions.Amendment 2 is issued in response to a revision of the related Transport Canada AD, which requires replacement of affected main landing gear main fittings. |\n\n| | The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 24 February 2000. |\n| --- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |\n\n![](image.001.png) \nDavid Villiers \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n11 July 2007","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/CL-600/35 Amdt 2","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/CL-600/35 Amdt 2","content":"## AD/CL-600/35 Amdt 2","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Main Landing Gear Main Fitting","sectionType":"part","heading":"Main Landing Gear Main Fitting","content":"## Main Landing Gear Main Fitting","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"9/2007","sectionType":"part","heading":"9/2007","content":"## 9/2007","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"flash_summary_failed":{"failed":true,"reason":"Unauthenticated.
