If the review shows none of the listed parts were fitted, the pilot may enter a certification in the aircraft records stating the Directive does not apply.\n- The directive references FAA AD 2000-06-01 and relies on Cessna SEB97-9 for the measurement and replacement instructions.\n\n**Who it affects**\n\n- Aircraft owners/operators of Cessna 207/T207 and 207A/T207A series aircraft.\n- Maintenance organisations and certificated pilots who maintain or review aircraft records for compliance.\n- Parts suppliers or overhaul facilities that supply or replace the strainer top assemblies.\n\n**Why it matters (stated purpose and practical effects)**\n\n- The Directive is issued to correct an identified “unsafe condition” associated with certain fuel strainer assemblies (the AD states the delegate considers the required actions necessary to correct the unsafe condition). The practical effect is to require verification that the standpipe length is within a specified limit and to remove/replace assemblies that do not meet that limit.\n\n**Operational and economic consequences (practical testing of purpose-claims)**\n\n- Who pays: aircraft owners/operators bear the direct cost of inspection and, where necessary, replacement parts and labour. Maintenance organisations will charge for the work; parts suppliers may gain replacement sales.\n- Who decides: the CASA delegate issued the Directive; compliance determinations rely on the aircraft owner/operator, maintenance personnel and certificated pilots checking records and carrying out inspections per Cessna SEB97-9.\n- Behaviour changes: owners/operators must schedule inspection within 12 months; if a non‑conforming standpipe is found the aircraft cannot fly until the top assembly is replaced.\n- Compliance burden and downtime: the inspection is a straightforward measurement if the SB instructions are followed, but replacement prior to flight creates immediate downtime and replacement cost for any non-conforming units.\n- Implementation risk: correct measurement depends on following the Cessna service bulletin; parts traceability (records of when parts were fitted) affects whether an in‑field inspection is necessary or can be resolved by a records check. Replacement part availability could delay return to service.\n- Market effects: costs are concentrated on owners/operators of the specified models and on any operators who received affected parts. Benefits (reduced risk of the unsafe condition) are diffuse across passengers, pilots and the flying public. Maintenance providers and parts suppliers capture concentrated business as a result of required work and replacements.\n\n**Reference mechanics**\n\n- The AD cross-references Cessna Single Engine Service Bulletin SEB97-9 (Accomplishment Instructions) for the detailed measurement and replacement procedure and notes the related FAA AD 2000-06-01.\n\n(Sections cited: Applicability; Requirement paragraphs 1–2; Compliance.)"},"kimi_summary":{"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":3,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"This is a targeted safety directive addressing a specific manufacturing defect in a specific aircraft model.
