The original directive, issued in 1978, required operators to install a deflector on the passenger sliding door before further flight. The deflector stopped the emergency flotation bags from blocking the emergency exits when deployed. The cancellation took effect on 9 April 2009. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) cancelled the AD because the required modification is now considered to be fitted to all remaining aircraft, so the separate directive is no longer necessary. Operators of Bell 212 helicopters no longer need to demonstrate compliance with this specific AD. The cancellation does not remove any physical modification already made, and the aircraft must continue to meet the underlying airworthiness standards."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/ad-bell-212-20-emergency-float-bag-deflector-installation-p-n-212-030-629-101-l-h-and-102-r-h-cancel","history":"/api/acts/ad-bell-212-20-emergency-float-bag-deflector-installation-p-n-212-030-629-101-l-h-and-102-r-h-cancel/history","analysis":"/api/acts/ad-bell-212-20-emergency-float-bag-deflector-installation-p-n-212-030-629-101-l-h-and-102-r-h-cancel/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/ad-bell-212-20-emergency-float-bag-deflector-installation-p-n-212-030-629-101-l-h-and-102-r-h-cancel/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/ad-bell-212-20-emergency-float-bag-deflector-installation-p-n-212-030-629-101-l-h-and-102-r-h-cancel/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/ad-bell-212-20-emergency-float-bag-deflector-installation-p-n-212-030-629-101-l-h-and-102-r-h-cancel/documents"}}
