All model 206L-1 S/N 45154 through 45790.\n\nRequirement: Action in accordance with Bell Alert Service Bulletin 206L-88- 52. Compliance: Unless already accomplished, at the next inspection for issue of a Maintenance\n\nRelease or by 30 November 1988, whichever occurs first.\n\nBackground: A number of accidents and incidents have been caused by the old style fuel flow switches being blocked by fuel system contaminants. If blockage of the flow switch occurs the L/FUEL PUMP and R/FUEL PUMP caution lights will fail to illuminate. Fuel contaminants can also block the manifold and dual ejector pump nozzle causing the fuel transfer system to become inoperative. Failure by the pilot to detect these blockages can result in an engine flameout.","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"kimi_summary":{"_metrics":{"model":"kimi-k2.5","source":"moonshot-batch","completionTokens":1412},"content_quality":"ok","complexity_score":1,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"This directive maintains its original narrow scope: a specific safety modification for defined helicopter models to address a known defect in fuel flow switches."},"complexity_factors":["Single, unambiguous requirement with no sub-conditions","No cross-references to other legislation beyond the cited Service Bulletin","Simple applicability test based solely on aircraft model and serial number","Single technical term requiring explanation (Maintenance Release)","No exceptions, exemptions, or nested logic"],"plain_english_summary":"**What this directive does**\nThis safety order requires owners and operators of specific Bell 206 helicopters to inspect or replace faulty fuel system flow switches according to manufacturer instructions.\n\n**Who it affects**\nAnyone operating Bell 206L or 206L-1 helicopters with serial numbers 45001-45153, 46601-46617, or 45154-45790.\n\n**What you must do**\nFollow the manufacturer's instructions in Bell Alert Service Bulletin 206L-88-52. You must complete this work by whichever comes first:\n- Your next scheduled maintenance inspection (when the aircraft gets its Maintenance Release — basically its fitness certificate to fly), or  \n- 30 November 1988\n\n**Why it matters**\nOld-style fuel switches can get clogged with fuel contamination. When blocked, they fail to trigger the \"L/FUEL PUMP\" and \"R/FUEL PUMP\" warning lights on the dashboard. Without these warnings, pilots won't know if fuel isn't flowing properly, which can cause the engine to cut out mid-flight (engine flameout)."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/ad-bell-206-114-fuel-system-flow-switches","history":"/api/acts/ad-bell-206-114-fuel-system-flow-switches/history","analysis":"/api/acts/ad-bell-206-114-fuel-system-flow-switches/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/ad-bell-206-114-fuel-system-flow-switches/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/ad-bell-206-114-fuel-system-flow-switches/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/ad-bell-206-114-fuel-system-flow-switches/documents"}}
