If, by checking the logbook, it can determined that the elevator(s) has/have been removed, or if complete records of elevator(s) do not exist, inspect the elevator balance weight attachment screws to determine if they are the correct length in accordance with the Accomplishment Instructions section of Raytheon MSB SB 27-3187 Revision 1. If, during the Requirement 2 inspection, the elevator balance weight attachment screw(s) are found to be incorrect length, remove and rebalance the elevator(s) by installing the balance weights with the appropriate new elevator balance weight attachment bolts in accordance with the Accomplishment Instructions section of Raytheon MSB SB 27-3187 Revision 1, and the applicable maintenance manual.\n\n    4. It requires aircraft owners and operators to check whether the elevators (the movable parts on the tail that control up and down movement) have ever been removed from the aircraft. If they have been removed, or if records are unclear, mechanics must inspect special screws that hold balance weights on the elevators. If the wrong screws were used, the elevators must be taken apart and rebalanced with correct bolts that have drilled heads and safety wire (a thin wire that prevents screws from loosening). This prevents the balance weights from falling off, which could cause loss of control of the aircraft. The checks must be done within 200 flight hours, and any faulty screws must be fixed before the aircraft flies again."}},"importantCases":[],"_links":{"self":"/api/acts/ad-beech-1900-37-elevator-balance-weight-attachment","history":"/api/acts/ad-beech-1900-37-elevator-balance-weight-attachment/history","analysis":"/api/acts/ad-beech-1900-37-elevator-balance-weight-attachment/analysis","conflicts":"/api/acts/ad-beech-1900-37-elevator-balance-weight-attachment/conflicts","importantCases":"/api/acts/ad-beech-1900-37-elevator-balance-weight-attachment/important-cases","documents":"/api/acts/ad-beech-1900-37-elevator-balance-weight-attachment/documents"}}
