The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.\n\n![](image.001.png)\n\n \n\nBoeing 767 Series Aeroplanes\n\n \n\n# AD/B767/156 In-Flight Entertainment System FAA STC SA7019NM-D\n\n\n11/2001\n\n \n\nApplicability: Model 767-300 series aeroplanes modified by United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) SA7019NM-D.\n\n \n\nRequirement: 1. Install a master power control switch for the in-flight entertainment (IFE) video system and associated wiring, in accordance with BFGoodrich Engineering Order (EO) 23-32-767-031 dated 16 August 2000.\n\n \n\n2.        Amend the Flight Attendant Manual by inserting BFGoodrich 767 Flight Attendant Manual Supplement D2000-160, dated 16 August 2000, and amend the Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM) by inserting BFGoodrich B767 AFM Supplement D2001-025, dated 26 February 2001, into the Emergency Procedures section of the AFM.\n\n \n\n3.        IFE may not be installed on any aeroplane in accordance with STC SA7019NM- D unless it is modified in accordance with BFGoodrich EO 23-32-767-031 and the Flight Attendant Manual and the AFM is revised in accordance with this Directive.\n\n \n\nNote: FAA AD 2001-18-08 Amdt 39-12434 refers.\n\n \n\nCompliance: For Requirement 1 - Within 18 months after the effective date of this Directive.\n\n \n\nFor Requirement 2 - Before further flight after installation of the master power control switch in accordance with Requirement 1.\n\n \n\nFor Requirement 3 - As of the effective date of this Directive.\n\n \n\nThis Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 1 November 2001.\n\n \n\nBoeing 767 Series Aeroplanes\n\n \n\nAD/B767/156 (Continued)\n\n \n\nBackground:  This Directive requires the modification of the IFE systems installed under STC SA7019NM-D, together with the revision of both the Flight Attendant Manual and the AFM. This action is required to ensure that, when necessary, the flight crew is able to remove power from the IFE system and is advised of appropriate procedures to perform these actions. Inability to remove power from the IFE system during a non-normal or emergency situation could result in inability to control smoke or fumes in the aeroplane flight deck or cabin.\n\n![Signature of Eugene Paul Holzapfel, Delegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.](image.002.png) \n\n\n \n\nEugene Paul Holzapfel\n\nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority 13 September 2001\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n![](image.001.png) \n\n\nThe above AD is notified in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette on 10 October 2001.\n","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"flash_summary_failed":{"failed":true,"reason":"Unauthenticated.
