The flightcrew's inability to turn off electrical power to the IFE system and other non-essential passenger cabin systems could result in the inability to control smoke or fumes in the aeroplane flight deck or passenger cabin during a non-normal or emergency situation. |\n\n![](image.001.png) \nJames Coyne \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n14 August 2009","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/B747/396","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/B747/396","content":"## AD/B747/396","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"In-Flight Entertainment Systems","sectionType":"part","heading":"In-Flight Entertainment Systems","content":"## In-Flight Entertainment Systems","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"10/2009","sectionType":"part","heading":"10/2009","content":"## 10/2009","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"flash_summary_failed":{"failed":true,"reason":"A positive credit balance is required for all requests, including BYOK, so fallback providers remain available. Previously, they couldn't turn off the entertainment systems from the flight deck. This fix ensures they have that control during emergencies.\n\n**Who must comply:**\nOperators of the specified Boeing 747 models.
