Such cracking, unless detected and corrected, could result in significant degradation of the fuselage structure and reduce its ability to carry flight loads from the vertical stabiliser, which could adversely affect the controllability of the aircraft. This amendment is to allow the use of Revision 1 of Boeing Service Bulletin747-53A2651 as an Alternative Method of Compliance (AMOC) and to allow FAA form 8100-9 approved repairs, without the need for a CASA Exclusion. There is some change to the requirements and compliance and these are specified in Paragraph 1E of Boeing Service Bulletin 747-53A2651, Rev 1, dated 2 September 2010.Amendment 2 is to correct some wording in Requirement 1. There is no change to the intent of the requirements or compliance.Amendment 1 of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 20 May 2011.The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 2 July 2009. |\n| ----------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |\n\n![](image.001.png)\n\nMike Higgins \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n20 May 2011","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/B747/392 Amdt 2","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/B747/392 Amdt 2","content":"## AD/B747/392 Amdt 2","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Fuselage Upper Lobe Doubler","sectionType":"part","heading":"Fuselage Upper Lobe Doubler","content":"## Fuselage Upper Lobe Doubler","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"11/2011","sectionType":"part","heading":"11/2011","content":"## 11/2011","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"flash_summary_failed":{"failed":true,"reason":"Unauthenticated.
